Ring topology Connect computers with a cable loop shape. There are no free ends. Signal through the loop in one direction, passing on to each computer. Unlike the bus topology, which is passive, here each computer acts as a repeater amplifies the signal and transmit it to the next computer. The signal traverses each computer, the failure of one of them affects the entire network. One method of transmitting data in a network with ring topology is token transfer. Token is transferred from one computer to another, until it reaches a computer has data to transmit. Transmitter computer chip change, add data alectronica address and sends the token on.

Pass data from one computer to another, to reach the computer whose address matches the transmitted data. Receiving computer returns a message to computer transmitter, notifying that the data were received. After verification, the computer generates a new transmitter chip, which it launched in the network. This method seems slow, but in reality, the chip run at a speed close to that of light. A chip can surround a ring diameter of approximately 200m. 10,000 times per second.

Currently, most topologies are combinations of bus, star and ring. In the magisrala-star topology, there are several star topology networks, connected via type linear bus trunks. If a computer fails, it will not affect the rest of the network, other computers can still communicate. If a concentrator fails, all computers connected to that concentrator will be unable to common.

Ring-star topology, called the ring wired in star topology is similar with bus-stand. Both include a concentrator, which actually contains the ring, that bus. Concentrators of topolgia ring-star are connected by the main concentrator in a star topology.
